2010 Topps Pro Debut Images are Out!!!
And now I'm tempted to go after this set. It would be the first time I'd be interested in a minor league set. I wasn't even this interested when Tristar, that other company, Just, or Classic made minor league cards.
Why???
Take a look at the pictures below:
Because the cards will be using the now awesome looking 2010 Topps Baseball set!!! That's why!!!
I'm torn. I think I'll probably stick with buying a master set (depending on what the base inserts look like). Definitely will want a complete base set if the cards are going to look like this!!!
The number one source in the Hobby also has pictures of relics and autograph cards. As many of you know, I don't really go after auto or relic cards, and that probably will still be the case here. But one card I saw made me wonder. I thought that they didn't like it when other companies (especially THAT other company) did it, if this image below is real, does it mean that they changed their mind???
What??? I know that this Beckham was an (ahem) Razor auto exclusive. So that meant that Topps had no chance to get him onto autograph cards. But guess what? Topps has a blanket agreement with MiLB. That means that it doesn't matter what "company" had rights...Topps can get him on base and basic insert cards. Autos? If this is what they came up with, I think they could have waited. At least they didn't take a Razor card and cut it to shreds (like another company taking Topps cards and cutting them...)
I just hope the money situation will be better as this is looking to be an expensive 2010 coming soon.
Sincerely,
JayBee Anama

I probably won't buy a ton of these, but I will buy some. I love the huge logos for the minor league teams, and these look really great (I think the design works better for the minors, frankly.)
I still don't like the 2010 design. I might pick up the Reds minor league team sets if they don't cost an arm and a leg, but I just don't like the design at all. I hope it grows on me.
While the Base Design looks alot like 2002 Topps/Post Cereal, it is distinctive and pleasant, nothing ground braking but a lot better than the non descript designs from the late 1990s and early 2000s.
