Another "Where Have I Been??!" Post and What's Coming Up in September.

Yes, work has been completely hectic, and so has my home life. I am still a week behind on the Random Card of the Day posts, but that's neither here nor there.

I finally bought one of those Walmart exclusive boxes (the ones with the 40% more value added) last Friday, and had a wonderful conversation with Wayne who was stocking the shelves with product (no the Topps 206 was not at my store...yet). But we went over turnover and what happens to product when scumbags rip open blasters and other boxes looking for that "big hit" (it gets sent back to Topps for another attempt at repackaging) and that Walmart really doesn't care what happens when product has to be sent back (they're not losing any money here folks). Also, although the box does say Beckett Associates, the number one source in the hobby has nothing to do with the company (it's just a coincidence that the name of both companies just happens to be Beckett) and that Wayne actually doesn't work for them, he works for another distributor who is called in to stock the stuff. Walmart doesn't allow their own employees to handle the breakdown of product. A box break will be forthcoming.

Also, coming soon, a preview of the rookies who could very well be the ten selected for the 2010 Topps All-Star Rookie Team. A contest will be forthcoming, with the grand prize being a complete 150 card set of 2005 Topps Rookie Cup and other prizes to boot.

That's all for now. I'm sorry for the infrequent posts (to the point that I had less than 60 readers in one entire day!!!). As the season winds down, and the pennant races start to heat up, there should be more coming in this humble, little blog. Stay tuned.

Sincerely,

JayBee Anama

I've talked a few times with those distributors when they are putting out new product. All of them express no concern about packsearching...one lady even told me there is usually a guy waiting for her when she arrives and he uses a scale. He must not be very good with it because I've pulled some retail hits from the same spot.
