Konerko and Victorino win the Final Man Vote!!!

The Paul-Star and Flying Hawaiian were the Final Men Standing!!!
Two years ago at this time, "Bran-Torino" was the word.  This time, it was a wire-to-wire finish on both sides of the ballot, leaving no doubt about who was going to be added to the rosters to the NL and AL All-Star Teams.

The fans have voted, and did so in record numbers. Over fifty million votes were cast.  And in the end Paul Konerko of the White Sox and Shane Victorino of the Phillies won spots on their respective All-Star Teams as the winners of the Final Man Ballot.

Yes, alliances were formed once again, (Victor/Victorino; Rocks and Royals; the Beltways Ballot; Send Paul and Andre Home; Help Zo Go and Vote Ian In), and thanks to mobile voting and twitter, many famous fans put their two cents in.  And if the voting was only taken via cell phones/iPhones/smartphones/whatever, then Alex Gordon and Todd Helton would be making arrangements for Phoenix.  But 9.2 million votes, the most for any player amongst the ten, went to Victorino, while "Paul-Star" received just over 8.4 million.

Konerko now joins Carlos Quentin on the AL side.  And "The Flying Hawaiian" follows Placido Polanco, Roy Halladay, Cole Hamels, and Cliff Lee on the NL squad.

Sincerely,

JayBee Anama

P.S.  Pictures to come soon.  jba

I'm not a White Sox fan but Konerko's numbers (.316, 22 HR 62 RBI)do justify his selection.
