Now Topps has been busy on twitter (you can either follow me at @bdj610 or the Topps Company at @toppscards, or both) showing exclusive images of their products (some you may have already seen on this humble, little blog). Normally, I would have posted pictures of individual cards coming with Series 2. But since the sell sheets were out, and because the Number One Source in the Hobby announced details of the product, I thought I'd wait until now to make comments.
It's a continuation of the Series 1, with 330 cards featuring veterans, rookie logo qualifying players, highlights, etc. Five of the insert sets in Series 1 will continue in Series 2: 1972 minis, Chasing History, Making their Mark, Cut to the Chase, and Elite. New insert sets this time around are Chase it Down (showing feats of fielding excellence), and in honor of the 2013 World Baseball Classic, a fifteen-card set featuring some of the world's best players in the jersey's of their home country. All insert sets will have autos and relics to boot.
Topps is really piling on "The Chase" theme with relic cards and autographs that would normally be reserved for higher-tiered products. For those breaking boxes and such, these will be incredible finds. The Ultimate Chase Card program that starts in Series 1 will continue here, with 20 more cards that are 1/1 with both a signature (cut or on sticker) and a large relic.
Product comes out in middle of April to early May (after the retail sets).
Is it spring already???
Sincerely,
JayBee Anama
WOW. I want PINK and DESERT CAMO.
ReplyDeleteThat hugh jass Griffey relic made me swoon.
I really like the black parallel this year. I think that would have been better as the actual base card. It looks great.
ReplyDeleteThat black parallel for the Yankees look just above the best! It goes so well with the teams logo and colours!
