Congratulations to Roberto Alomar and Bert Blyleven for being elected into the Hall of Fame in what was their second and fourteenth years on the ballot respectively!!! To get in this year, a player had to appear on 436 ballots.

The players whose names are italicized will appear on next year's ballot, having surpassed the five percent rule to stay on (27 votes). Dave Parker was on his fifteenth and final ballot, and will now wait for the Veteran's Committee to decide his fate in the future.

According to the Baseball Hall of Fame website, a record 581 ballots were cast. And just like last year, five of the ballots returned were left BLANK!!!

Sincerely,

JayBee Anama

I love comments. Please leave comments!!! (Ego, hush). Just keep your words clean (I show my kids this stuff), and the comment will be accepted.

If you must leave a comment anonymously, that's fine too. Although I wish you wouldn't. I'd like to get to know the people who actually read this humble little blog.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,
