Dallas Braden Made His Mother Proud Today!!!
Dallas Braden hasn't had the easiest childhood. He was raised by single mom Jodie Atwood in Stockton, CA, before she passed away from skin cancer during his senior year of high school. But on May 9, 2010, with his grandmother Peggy Lindsey in the stands, Dallas did something that only 18 other pitchers can claim to have done...Pitch a Perfect Game!!!
Twenty-seven Tampa Bay Rays batters faced Dallas today...and twenty-seven Tampa Bay Rays were retired. It could not have come at a better time for Dallas. Just a couple of weeks ago, he was screaming at Arod for stepping on HIS mound. Today, he protected it in a 4-0 victory. It was the first no-hitter for the Athletics since Dave Stewart's gem on June 29, 1990, and the first perfect game since Catfish Hunter pulled it off, on May 8, 1968.
Congratulations to you Dallas, Mom has to be up there somewhere jumping for joy.
Sincerely,
JayBee Anama

I love comments. Please leave comments!!! (Ego, hush). Just keep your words clean (I show my kids this stuff), and the comment will be accepted.
If you must leave a comment anonymously, that's fine too. Although I wish you wouldn't. I'd like to get to know the people who actually read this humble little blog.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
JayBee Anama
