- Major League Debut: July 20, 1976.
- Last Line of Statistics: 1977 stats (Astros): 54 G, 89 IP, 5-5, 34 R, 23 ER, 67 SO, 24 BB, 2.33 ERA.
- Any special information about player: Drafted by Astros #17th, June 1973. Bats: left, Throws: left.
- Any special information about this specific card: Sambito's second regular Topps card (total includes both Topps and Topps Traded cards). It's 70's Houston Astros Pitchers week here at the blog. Is it just me, or does this guy look like Henry Winkler could play him if they did a movie biopic of Sambito's life? Sambito himself went on to have a decent career, even became an All-Star in 1979. The blurb on the back talks about how he was the top lefty in the Astros' bullpen with the lowest ERA of the campaign. He hurled a 4-hit shutout vs. the Cardinals in Astrodome on 08/29/1976. Many of the players' 1978 cards could be used for a game called "Play Ball." Each card featured a play (single, home run, strikeout, etc), and depending on the card, you could in fact, play a game. Drawing Sambito's card would have resulted in a single.
- Lo-Hi Beckett value: $0.08-$0.25.
- How many cards of this player do I own?: 12 cards.

I love comments. Please leave comments!!! (Ego, hush). Just keep your words clean (I show my kids this stuff), and the comment will be accepted.
If you must leave a comment anonymously, that's fine too. Although I wish you wouldn't. I'd like to get to know the people who actually read this humble little blog.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
