It is the 13th perfect game in the 20th century, and the first by a Yankee since Don Larsen in the 1956 World Series.

  1. That was such a great game. It was a sunday afternoon and I was at work following the game on the internet - listened to the top of the ninth in my friend's truck. Then amazingly on another sunday afternoon a year later David Cone matched Wells's feat! That year I was able to get home in time to watch the last out on TV. Boy the Yankees had some great pitchers in those days. The current crop is good but not super-consistent like those guys were.

  2. I have that card. I was actually 8 years old and in the middle of moving when it was going on. My dad had it on the radio cause we hadn't hooked up a tv in the new house yet. I had no clue at the time of how rare a perfect game is. cool stuff
