According to the San Francisco Chronicle, there will be more second version cards of our Presidential candidates.
Along with the Palin "beauty queen card," there will also be a second Barack Obama card with him playing basketball, and another John McCain card with the Republican hopeful watching a ball game in the stands.
Makes one wonder...what happened to Joe Biden??? Does he get one too??? Will there also be an additional card to the 2008 Topps Presidential Match Ups with an Obama/McCain card???
To think, we'll have to wait until 2012 for this Presidential madness to return to the Hobby.

I love comments. Please leave comments!!! (Ego, hush). Just keep your words clean (I show my kids this stuff), and the comment will be accepted.
If you must leave a comment anonymously, that's fine too. Although I wish you wouldn't. I'd like to get to know the people who actually read this humble little blog.
Thank you very much.

I think the McCain and Obama cards mentioned in the article are SPs in the 2008/09 Topps Basketball release, and not the Update and Highlights set.
ReplyDeleteI get Obama shooting hoops. But isn't there a picture of McCain doing something other than watching basketball they could have used? I guess at least with these two, there's a tangential relation to the product they appeared in, so that's a plus. I've thought the baseball release would have benefited from photos of, say, candidates throwing out first pitches. Or meeting managers. Something.
So maybe this is Topps improving..?
