All-Star Voting Ends Tonight. Players Who I Think are Going to the ASG.

Fans, you have until midnight EST to vote for your favorite players into the MLB All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium. Every vote counts. So get out there and vote!!!

I love All-Star Games. Not only because it brings the best players together for one game, but it was cool to see each player wearing their respective uniforms as they lined up along the first or third base lines. My favorite part of the game does not happen during the game itself (come on, there have been many snorefests within the last twenty years) but the pre-game introductions.

This year, with a few exceptions, every position is up for grabs. I voted a long time ago, and as much as I try, I can't remember all the players I voted for. But that's moot now.

Here are my predictions as to who will make both 2008 All-Star teams (if the voting remains unchanged). There are 32 roster spots open for each team, including the last man vote.

AL:

SS-Derek Jeter, Yankees
OF-Manny Ramirez, Red Sox

RP-Mariano Rivera, Yankees

DH-Hideki Matsui, Yankees (replacing Ortiz)
1B-Justin Morneau, Twins
2B-Ian Kinsler, Rangers
3B-Mike Lowell, Red Sox
SS-Michael Young, Rangers
OF-Vladmir Guerrero, Angels
OF-Carlos Quentin, White Sox
OF-Jose Guillen, Royals
OF-Magglio Ordonez, Tigers
OF-Nick Markakis, Orioles
C-Ivan Rodriguez, Tigers
C-A. J. Pierzynski, White Sox

Now, I'm going to go on a hunch that at least 90% of the players I picked above will be going to the game. And before you comment about why I didn't include this person, or that person. Keep in mind, I took other players into consideration. But based on the rules like every team being represented, and going by the fan vote, the players I chose fit the requirements.

Let the debates begin.

Sincerely,

JayBee Anama

  1. There's no way that Terry Francona could get away with only having one Ray on the team. I'm thinking that Longoria and Navarro make it, along with Kazmir. We'll find out tomorrow night!

I love comments. Please leave comments!!! (Ego, hush). Just keep your words clean (I show my kids this stuff), and the comment will be accepted.

If you must leave a comment anonymously, that's fine too. Although I wish you wouldn't. I'd like to get to know the people who actually read this humble little blog.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,
